Our commitment

The Underground Space and Tunnelling Association of India (UTA India) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Standards followed

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C, and the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) 3.0 published by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.

Measures we take

  • Semantic HTML landmarks with a single main content region on every page.
  • Keyboard navigation support across all interactive elements with visible focus indicators.
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Accessible names on icon-only buttons and links.
  • Sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
  • Respect for the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting.
  • A "Skip to main content" link as the first focusable element.
  • Form fields with associated labels and clear error messages.

Known limitations

Some third-party embedded content (social media widgets, external documents) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We are working to address these areas.
